Any organisation or individual may obtain an ETNS Number. Formally, ETNS Numbers are assigned by the ETNS Registrar to service providers. Organisations and individuals seeking an ETNS Number should approach their service provider, which will make application for an ETNS Number to the ETNS Registrar on their behalf. Organisations seeking Corporate Network Numbers may act as a service provider for themselves.

ETNS Numbers for Public Service applications, Customer Service applications and Personal Numbering services are assigned individually. ETNS Numbers for Corporate Network services are assigned in blocks.

Fees for registration of service providers with the ETNS Registrar and for assignment of numbers are specified on the ETNS Registrar website.
